All Stages of T2 Server

Edited

a) Input Not Connected:

1.) Check Control Studio is open and data is arriving there ok.

2.) Check that the input port number in T2 Server match the output port number of Control Studio

b) Data arriving but Missing Meta Data File:

Both T2 Server and Control Studio will tell you which Meta Data file the data needs to be decoded. Either click on the vehicle in Control Studio and navigate to Meta Info tab below or check in your T2 Server in the upright corner.

The default file path for MoTec Meta Data is: C:\ProgramData\MoTeC\T2\MetaData. By typing in %ProgramData% you can easily reach that folder.

c) Data Arriving but T2 Server Output showing Not Connected:

Click on the vehicle in Control Studio and navigate to Meta Info and if it says BadData click next on Metadata Log.

The Baud Rate from the device and the logger mismatch.

To change the baud rate setting of the device, click on the modem in Control Studio and then below in the properties window go to the tab Modem Info and click on the settings cog. Check Step 3: Setting up your device in the Quick Start section at Step 5.

Alternatively change the baud rate of your MoTec logger in your Dash Manager set up.

d) Receiving Data both in Control Studio and T2 Server, but i2 pro not connecting:

If you have everything set up correctly and it has been working before, but doesn't now, first close T2 and i2 and then navigate to the MoTec discovery Tray icon next to your clock in the task bar and close it. After that, restart T2 Server and i2 pro.

If this does not work, open MoTeC discovery and look for a repeated message like the screenshot below. If you see this, first try rebooting the PC, if that does not succeed, then you will need to uninstall and reinstall both i2/T2.

Another troubleshooting step is to configure T2 server to transmit on all network interfaces.

Double click on the output stream to open the menu, then choose "all interfaces" from the dropdown. Then save and try again. You can also try ticking the "use unicast UDP" box, this will force T2 server to use a different protocol, which may work better on your network.

e) Receiving Data both in Control Studio and T2 Server, but manufacturer support does not receive data:

If you are licensed by a manufacturer and the support is not receiving data, make sure you set up Cloud Mode to CloudTX and have the Metadata Sync enabled. Additionally check that the Metadata is either at the default MoTeC folder or set up Control Studio to the correct folder path by going on Tools -> Options -> Telemetry -> MoTec.

For VPN customers only:

f) No Data, but vehicle device is online and configured correctly

Make sure car is powered on and device shows green in Control Studio:

1.1 Check you internet connection and VPN connection is up. If VPN is down like in the picture.

1.2 Monitor how stable both internet and VPN connection are. If the oscilloscopes turn regularly yellow and red you most likely have an unstable internet connection. Check in the General Troubleshoot section how to check pit side internet connection.

2.1 Click on the device inside the car and click in the properties window below on Modem Info.

2.2 Click on the settings cog to navigate to modem UI. Log in with username: admin and password: control. Check first the Telemetry State and if that is ok, go to Telemetry/Streams and check that the data is sent to the correct VPN address and port no.
